Well, in Alaska it looks like Lisa Murkowski will reclaim her senate seat, this time as a write-in candidate.  It's not that it's taken a whole week to count the votes, it just took Alaskans longer to write Murkowski in because they couldn't spell her name.


Michelle Obama created controversy when she reached out and shook the hand of Indonesia's information minister.  According to his religious beliefs, he is not allowed to touch a woman who's not related to him.  He was even more alarmed when Mrs. Obama told him to pull her finger.

Conan O'Brien returned to television last night with yet still another show, this time on TBS.  TBS....it stands for That Boat Sailed.


According to the Hollywood reporter, the ratings for Conan's premiere beat out Leno, Letterman, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report.  That's because viewers were so frozen in horrified astonishment, they couldn't turn the channel.

Did you catch the interview Matt Lauer did with George W. Bush?  For part of the interview, they sat down to talk in a church pew.  Apparently NBC was sending out a subliminal message...not that Bush is a good church-going Christian but that "pew" best describes his eight years in office.


Bush has been critical of John McCain.  He says McCain didn't run his 2008 presidential campaign very well.  McCain should take it from somebody who knows.  George Bush spent eight years in the White House not running things very well. 


Of course George Bush is in the news because he's promoting his book, Decision Points.  Most of his decision points involved where to use commas, periods, and capital letters.


Bankruptcy filings are up 14%.  That's good news for employment numbers.  It means that bankruptcy lawyers are hanging on to their jobs.
