- A professional, award-winning comedy writer for over 30 years, I've written for Jay Leno, Joan Rivers, Rodney Dangerfield, Phyllis Diller, Reader's Digest, New York Times,as well as editing humor books and writing radio promos. I've served as the head writer for The Yakov Smirnoff Show and I have also written material for the one-woman show, "Tied Up In Knotts", a stage memoir performed by the daughter of comedian Don Knotts. My weekly column, "Wendel's World", appeared each Sunday for ten years in a Central Nebraska daily newspaper. I'm a recipient of the Round Table Comedy Writing Award, presented by a panel of Emmy Award-winning writers and producers.
